TIME DRAW

Roger Bunce who is the promoter of Swindon Town Supporters Club's lottery known as, the Robins Revival Half Time Draw, is delighted to have secured the support and sponsorship from the Evening Advertiser for this years remaining draws.
Roger remarked that the idea to start fund raising was spawned during the darkest days of the Football Club's financial crisis last year, but that it took several months of investigation to decide how best to launch the initiative. Roger was fortunate that his own employment takes him to all parts of the country and he was able to speak with a number of organisers at different clubs before deciding on the approach that the supporters club would take.
One of the keys to any success was to keep the administration of the draw to a minimum, whilst allowing entry to anyone who has an interest in the Football Club. He was aware that it was going to be difficult to achieve an overnight success but that it needed a firm foundation on which to build. " We decided that we must offer supporters as flexible a payment method as possible. This has been achieved by allowing payment in advance, the simplest method, either by cheque or Bank standing order, or by payment on matchdays.
We are pleased that the number of supporters paying in advance now exceeds 200 and our aim is to encourage further sign ups. Our sales on matchdays have remained steady but this is an area we know that we can definitely improve but with only a small band of committed sellers we know we are disappointing some supporters who would like to enter on a match by match basis. I would be delighted to hear from anyone who is prepared to give an hour or so before kick off who can help or from anyone who could distribute the advance payment forms.
Our aim is to improve the profile and success of the draw as time goes by and this season we have introduced a special incentive for those paying in advance. We also plan to invite a celebrity, past or present to make the draw at half time so keep your eyes open for just who turns up." Today we are delighted to the draw being made by Willie Penman a key member of the promotion and League cup winning squad of 1968-69. Willie also saw service with our visitors today Walsall and is an ideal personality to make todays draw. A great opportunity for everyone in the ground to recognise a true professional.
Teaming up with the Evening Advertiser, who play a huge part in keeping supporters informed of events at the Football Club, will raise the profile of the draw still further. All profits from the draw go towards benefiting the Football Club and its supporters and Roger reiterates that he would be delighted to hear from anyone who could help in any capacity, particularly on a matchday. He can be contacted on 01865 820499.
The draw is open to anyone over 16. An application form for those wanting to make advance payments can be printed off by clicking HERE.
