like to hear from any fan who would be prepared to give him a
lift to home matches. William unfortunately doesn't drive, but is
quite prepared to contribute towards the cost. Please ring Roger
Bunce, 01865 820499 if you can help and he will put you in
touch with William.
SUPPORTERS CLUB
AGM
The 6th AGM was held on the 15th September on winners lounge. Roger Bunce the
presiding Chairman reflected on the previous 12 months of
activity which he felt had been the most successful since the
formation of the club. Adult paid membership had reached record
levels and over the season around £15,000 will be available
to support activities at the football club in one format or
another. Of this sum a commitment of £7,500 in support the
centre of excellence has already been given.
The half time draw also enjoyed its most successful season ,on the back of improved attendances and at the final league game of the season, we broke the £1,000 prize watershed for the very first time, for a £1 stake. Roger thanked all who sell tickets and also the fans who participate. He also recognised Mavis Knight's contribution with the new pounds for points initiative, which itself raised over £3,000 during the season.
Roger also recognised the Eileen Richman for her unstinting efforts in the disabled kiosk.
He also thanked The Away travel organisation, SAS travel and Ian Ratcliffe who, with the disabled group, who both deliver great support to fans during the season with their own specific skills.
There was also reference to the positive relationship formed with Mark Devlin during his time at the club and hoped that an equally positive approach would be built with his eventual successor. A final thank you to everyone who has made a contribution to the supporters club over the season.
At the meeting, by rotation, both Roger Bunce and Nigel Bennett stood down and having put themselves up for re-election were re-elected unopposed.
After the formal meeting had closed discussion tool place about the problems encountered by fans travelling to Bristol City earlier this season. It was agreed that we would formally make approaches to raise our concerns to both Bristol City, the Police and Football league. We will keep you informed of any news of this in coming weeks.
