PROGRAMME NOTES FOR OLDHAM ATHLETIC
Welcome to everyone for this first home match of the season. Those with long memories may remember that our opponents today, Oldham, were our first home match during our premier league season. That was also a mid week fixture, after an away game in Yorkshire on the Saturday.
The Supporters Club made more major strides last season but we are aware there is still a lot of hard work ahead but with your help we can still bring further improvements to the County Ground and even more financial help to the Football Club.
Our minimal membership fee is more than compensated by benefits you can get in and around the County Ground. So if you haven't done so already, please apply straight away. Application forms can be downloaded from our web site or collected from the away travel office.
Thank you to all supporters for participating in our fund raising and our helpers who give their own time in the cause of helping us support the football club in what ever way we can.
Don't forget to participate in the half time draw, sponsored by the SAS travel (2005) ,or the pounds for points scheme , which itself raised £3000 for youth development. The scratch card lottery is continuing as before.
(We also now have the new opportunity with the scoreboard of broadcasting birthdays , special events , or even match days good wishes etc. at matches. You can hand any request, ideally on the match prior to the date in question, to any of our half time draw ticket sellers or the away travel office. Cost is just £10, but discounted by 50% for supporters club members.)
Away travel.
Some minor changes this season, but the superb travel facility continues under the Supporters Club umbrella and will now known as SAS travel (2005)
The away travel office also houses our programme shop where you will find Mike Skinner who does a fantastic job in keeping a fine stock of old programmes available from all over the country. These sales help our fund raising and is a valuable source of income. Mike would welcome any programmes, no longer required by fans, whether they are from Swindon Town or not.
Information about the supporters club can be found on our web site at www.go.to/swindontown
If you think that you could help us in any way during the coming season then our Chairman Roger Bunce will be delighted to hear from you ring him on 01865 820499.
