PROGRAMME NOTES FOR SWANSEA CITY

CHARIMAN's MESSAGE
As we reach the end of the year Chairman Roger Bunce reflects:

May I take this opportunity to wish everyone a  Happy New Year.

It has been a very disappointing first half of the season and as I write these notes we have been bottom of the league and also out of all three cup competitions.

Given this and the ticket price undercurrent, it is easy to understand why gates have dropped. We applaud the special ticket offers that are taking place and hope that continued discussions with Supporters groups will continue, on this sensitive issue, so that both Football Club and Supporters gain mutual advantage.

We congratulate the “Loud and Proud” campaign and this has certainly generated some much needed enthusiasm around the Football Club.

Fans will also make a difference by making their views known to the Council by writing about the proposed ground development and also encouraging as many friends to do the same, to generate a positive public opinion.

The 50/50 draw continues to be our main fund raiser. Mavis Knight has worked hard in promoting the “pounds for points” scheme, with over £50 per point already pledged. We also continue with the scratch card lottery and still await, at the time of writing these notes were are still waiting for the £1000 winner to be sold. Now could be the time to try your luck!

If you would like to give us any help with those fund raising initiatives, please contact any of our committee members. If you could start by selling just 20 scratch cards over a fortnight it would be a worthwhile contribution to the fund raising efforts. For more information come and meet us in Winners lounge before home matches or ask any half time draw ticket seller to point me out.

Lets hope Iffy and the team can lead us to Division 1 survival – The Club has never needed your support more than it does now.

Thank you to you all for that support

Roger
