PROGRAMME NOTES FOR HUDDERSFIELD TOWN

As the season, which has been tough for fans, draws to its close I would like to reflect and pass my thanks on to everyone who has supported our activities.

Firstly, we could not have a half time draw without the participation of fans, or without the magnificent commitment from the ticket sellers, who religiously give up there time, often for the joy of a soaking, in order to make the draw a success. Ticket sales have held up very well this season.

The latest winner was Andrew Bedwell who won £376 with ticket number 281 at the Brentford match. Don’t forget today is a special draw with three prizes on offer.

On Tuesday we held our Player of the year dinner at the County Ground and congratulations to Rhys Evans, for picking up our member’s nomination as player of the year.

The pounds for points sponsorship from fans saw each point won by the Town raising a record £54.50 thanks to much prompting by Mavis Knight. Despite the lack of league points the fund will have still raised over £2500 for youth development from this.

I am also deeply indebted to those that sell the scratch card lottery tickets. These ticket whilst sold in and around the County Ground, also enable our fundraising to go much wider afield and bring some additional but very valuable income, to help, with our support for the football club.

I must also mention the work of our volunteer scoreboard operators, James Walsh, Graham Smith and Duncan Bennett who have built up their expertise over this very first full season. Extra functionality has been added as the season has progressed. I am also grateful to the Swindon Advertiser, GWR FM and Cablerest Professional building services for their support and to Nigel Bennett who has spent time resolving technical and maintenance issues

The Away travel service for fans has again prospered under the new stewardship of Sally Anne Carter, Marc Walters and their band of helpers. With their first season now under their belts they will be well placed for what we all hope will be the promotion push next season. Thank you to everyone involved.

Finally, whilst it is not possible to name everyone who has helped me this season, I do know who you are and I really appreciate your effort on behalf of the Supporters Club and STFC.  I must finish this season with a word of thanks to my committee and to Patrick Richings who updates our web site, for pulling it all together.

Let us all look forward to a successful 2006/07, both on and off the field.
