Frequently
Asked Question (FAQ's)
( Major sponsors of the school of excellence for season 2001/2002 )
HISTORY?
The club is now entering its third full season. Last season we had a membership roll of around 300 fans. Each one able to participate in the benefits we were able to offer
WHAT IS THE CLUB FOR?
The Club is operated on the basis that all supporters are able to participate. Our major objectives are naturally, to support the Football Club, but also to further supporter's activities and improve facilities for fans following the team. We also act as a central point of contact for views of supporters and a point of contact for media representatives. Our fundraising is used directly towards supporting Football Club activities or supporters interests.
HOW IS THE CLUB RUN ?
We have a committee of dedicated individuals to oversee the running of the organisational side. A number of these committee members are drawn from organisations, linked with us, but sharing common aims. These groups include:- Disabled representation, away travel organisation, satellite groups, internet representation and at the younger end the Junior Robins. These diverse and independent groups add much to the overall mix of our Club.
WHY SHOULD I JOIN ?
Why not ! Although we charge a small membership fee we aim to ensure that our membership can more than compensate for this by offering a range of discounted offers in and around the Football Club. Our membership can claim discount in the Football Club shop, ticket priority and discount on the use of facilities of the Football Club. Finally, if you travel away to support the team you are able to claim discounted travel through our appointed travel organisation. If you use all the benefits on offer you could even save money before the season starts!
We hope our offers and the association with our fundraising aims and objectives will bring a sense of pride and an additional link to the Football Club you support.
WHAT SORT OF INTERNAL CONTROLS DO YOU HAVE ?
We are affiliated to the National Federation of Supporters Clubs and keep a set of rules that mirror and are consistent with their expectations. We are also data protection licensed.
Our diversity at committee level also ensures that as many views as possible can be heard.
HOW CAN I GET INVOLVED ?
Simply by completing our membership application form which will entitle you to participate in the benefits on offer. Alternatively, if you able to offer us additional help by joining our committee or helping with any of our fund raising activities, such as helping with our half time draw. Whatever your contribution it will be welcomed.

Although we are still a relatively new organisation, we can look back on last season as our most successful ever.
FUND RAISING
Our fund raising generated a contribution of £7000 to the Football Club. The major part is towards the school of excellence for next season, which will see the continuation of the development of local youngsters.
Linked groups such as the disabled, Vale and West Oxon satellite group and the away travel organisation also have made additional contributions of approximately a further £1000 to the Football Club. Our goal for this season must be to break the £10000 figure.
AWAY TRAVEL
Despite, a difficult season on the pitch, away travellers swelled dramatically towards the end of the season and for the last game at Stoke the number of coaches taken by S A S travel numbered 10 which was a splendid effort. It was so rewarding to see many fans at the ground well before kick off. Please ensure for next season when travelling that you do really book early to avoid being disappointed. Don't forget, Supporters Club Members receive a discounted fare
DISABLED GROUP
Held regular meetings that were attended by personalities from the Football Club. Did you know that they also run the special disabled area for refreshments within the Nationwide stand at home matches. Last season they also ran trips to away games for their members. If you need to contact them please do so through the membership enquiry telephone number.
JUNIOR ROBINS
This is a group primarily for fans up to the age of 16. However their activities are very much family orientated and their social events are designed with this very much in mind. The core of their activity is naturally focussed on the footballing side and reciprocal matches and games against the junior sides of the teams that our first team plays. Matches are played both home and away and often special ticket arrangements are available for those participating.
We should congratulate them for coming away with the silverware from the tournament at Stoke prior to our last match of last season.
